CHATEAU AT PONTVALLAIN WITH POOL, 
sleeps 2/10 plus baby

This most attractive Directoire style chateau was built as a hunting lodge in 1812 and has remained in the same family ever since. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The French owners only let it out occasionally and this is reflected in the quality of the interior antique furnishings. It is set in beautiful grounds of 12 hectares, comprising of a large imposing drive, woodlands, private swimming pool (12 x 6m) and a large terrace. It is situated close to the town of Pontvallain (3kms) with its basic shops and restaurants and Le Lude (11kms) with its famous renaissance chateau and gardens and shops and restaurants and 25kms away from the market town of La Fleche to the West. The historical centres of the Loire and its renowned chateaux such as Chenonceaux, Amboise, Blois, Chambord, Chaumont, Chinon and Saumur are an easy drive away as are the potteries at Malicorne and the famous abbey of Solesmes. The property is situated 3-4 hours from the channel ports and nearby Le Mans has direct TGV links to Paris. There are several vineyards and farms selling local produce in the area and the owner invites you to a wine tasting at her own "appellation controlee" Anjou vineyard on the Loire.

It is a privilege to stay in this wonderful Directoire Chateau and be made welcome by the French owner. It is very spacious both inside and out and is very comfortable for a large family or corporate group.
