Moustiers village house with views, sleeps 2/4

Delightful house in the centre of “one of the most beautiful villages of France”! Moustiers-Ste-Marie or the City of “faiences” (porcelain) is located at the entrance to the Verdon canyons. The site is exceptional and quite amazing. Moustiers is set in a semi circle of rocky cliff at 630m altitude. Two peaks at either end of this cliff are linked together by an iron chain (227m long) on which is hooked the star of one of the knights of the Crusades to celebrate his safe return. Numerous artists, painters, sculptors live in Moustiers and the land around Moustiers produces specialities such as truffles, olive oil and lavender honey. The Verdon canyon is unique in Europe and is one of the greatest attractions in Provence with its watersports and walks . Nearby is the Lac Ste Croix, the largest of the Verdon lakes which is 10km long and 3km wide with its swimming, wind-surfing, sailing, fishing, kayaking etc. There are several restaurants, craft shops selling local pottery and produce within walking distance of the house and Moustiers even has its own little lake. Moustiers is within easy driving distance of the attractive provencal villages in the area such as Aguines, with its wonderful views over Lac Ste Croix, Riez and Roumoules, Bargemon and Grasse. Aix en Provence is only 72kms away and Nice, Cannes and Ste Maxime are easily accessible
